Forge Explosion Cheat Sheet

Creating explosions in Forge is simple…

Create a Shape Layer and add a random to it’s Radius as well as it’s number of Sides. Add that shape to a Duplicator with Distribution Mode set to Point. Add that to a Forge system and play around with the settings to change what your explosion looks like.

Having the Radius (size) of the duplicated shapes vary from super tiny to large creates a more ‘violent’ explosion.

Less overall shapes and a slightly larger minimum radius is still a nice explosion, but a little more ‘floaty’

At a certain minimum radius, around 40, there’s essentially no explosion. Your shapes will just kind of pop into existence. Not very exciting…

The higher amount of tiny objects increases the intensity of the explosion

The bigger the minimum radius, the less intense the explosion will be
